In 2009 I was a Visiting Professor in History at University of California Berkeley, returning to the UK to run a series of seminars at LSE on “Understanding freedom”, April-July. In May I visited at the University of Padua, and gave academic papers at various of locations in Europe and the UK throughout the year. I shall be traveling Feb-March 2010 and way from email. In early 2011 I take up a Fernand Braudel Fellowship at European University Institute in Florence. I am based in Manchester however, and live outside the city on the borders of the Derbyshire Peak District. Viva Manchester United!
